The Best of The Worst

In honor of Way Back Wednesday 80's style, I present you the outfit that Sophie, all-by-her-Lum-self, created.
eighties girl

She absolutely insisted on wearing this belt even after the 12 times of my pleading the you can't wear a belt if you don't have belt loops defense.
She didn't hear a single word.
And I will let her make her own desicions. Even if she has to suffer the embarrasing consequences.
Although looking through the latest Victoria's Secret catalogue, I see the 80's style-leggings, long t-shirt cinched with a belt look is making a comeback.
UGH

The following two pictures come in at a close tie for my FUGLIEST picture:

Don't know if this was the 80's or not,
fugliest
but does it matter?

Is that fucking dirt around my mouth?? Or is it chocolate?
No clue.
Niiiiice hair as well!
I apparently seem to have an infatuation of taking self portraits. Always have, which I discovered while flipping through the colossal amount of self portraits last night.
I'm a dork.

Seriously,
three

I think I've made up my mind. This picture definitely out does the previous one.
If only for the mere fact that there are THREE Fuglies in this picture!
Let's focus on that one over on the right. Me.
Hair.
Teeth.
Need I say more?

As much as I hate the styles in that picture, it is one of my favorites.
Because it represents the sign of those times. And it's the three girls in our family.

Well, Oma thinks unless dressing to your mood is life threatening then anything goes...style away Sophie and Mommy!!! Love the pictures Jackie and the stories..you may have to write a book one day...I think you have found your true talent...a writer in a mommy and wife's body!!!I will think about the that little baby girl and send positive thoughts to her and her family. I can see why you would cry..so helpless ,she knows she is loved!!!I think that is why she is survives. Oh the power of a mother's love!!!

Even in the ugly shirt, buck teeth and feathered hair.... you were STILL beautiful. Yes... you were! Shut up!

Sophie's outfit... oh my. Keep that one for blackmail later on K?

Wait a minute. All of them are girls? What's with the boy haircut?

Oh, mom - you know in the 80's you didn't follow the "must have belt loops to wear a belt" rule. I can see you in the over-sized shirt with the gawdy gold belt around it!! :)

I played!

Sophie is adorable!!! Who said belts have to go in loops? :)

OMG. I love both those pics of you. Your sis does look like a little boy in that picture! You were still adorable!!! :)

I played. So now you can go laugh at me. :)

I would just like to say that I thank you for once for not posting a picture where you look totally hot.

Now I can resume laughing...

I love Sophies outfit. She can use that pick on a WBW in 20 years....

But Sophie is so darn cute.

Ah, the Olan Mills photos...

Aw, the belt is cute. If you can't get away with stuff when you're little, when can you?

OMG! Those are great! Classic Olan Mills with the bookshelf...why anyone thought that made a great photo, is beyond me!

You go Sophie, Aunt KK will show you how to do the 80's dance moves! I had the "Dorthy Hammill" haircut for countless years and buck teeth--thank goodness we all have funny pics from the past--it keeps us feeling good now.

But she's so cute mommy!!!!

There are girls in that picture?

Hey, you have your mom's eyes and smile!

Those glasses - Oh my God!

Yes, may attention span is just that short. All comments on the last pic. I figure your little girl is young enough to get away with the belt. For now. But if she starts dressing like Pat Benatar when she's 12 you've got to have an intervention QUICK!

80s = very scary. Here's a personal glimpse I'll share to prove I'm not just ragging on your family photos. I had khaki combat pants and a mesh tank top in the 80s. Thank God I was only 16. If I had been 35 and pulling that the fashion police would have been entirely justified in feeding me head first to Mr. Blackwell.

Now Sophie can pull off the 80's look (LOL).

I had that same hair style back in late 60's. I always thought I looked like a boy with it.

Shes cute enough to pull that fashion trend off mom ! And I am confused...do you have a brother or a sister ??

OMG, you are so brave to post those photos. Sophie is a looker, she is going to pick up those boys soon!!!

OMG! I look at that last picture and wonder how I could EVER have had our picture taken looking like that! At the time, it didn't seem so bad.

What a deal on Holden's shirt! The material by itself probably cost more than 97 cents!

As for Sophie, I LOVE the little outfit she put together. It shows what personality she has! In a few years, all the girls will be wanting to dress like Sophie. She will lead the way!!
